Training and Technical Assistance

The Center is equipped to provide training and technical assistance to organizations, as well as provide outreach in various communities. The Neighborhood Initiative Program (NIP) is an example of our technical assistance capabilities. The NIP was a comprehensive community change initiative in Fairfax County that focused on working collaboratively with county agencies, non-profits, and residents in economically challenged and diverse communities to empower residents and strengthen neighborhoods. CSSR directed and coordinated the research and documentation of the NIP pilot project and offered training and technical assistance to county and non-profit staff over a two-year period. Technical assistance efforts included resident engagement, community assessments, developing logic models and performance indicators, and measuring results.
