The CSSR Urban Research Hub invites you to showcase your photo of an urban space near you and how it has impacted your neighborhood.
Early in the covid pandemic we developed a greater understanding of the limits and potential of urban space as we had to rethink our every move. The new meanings of indoors and outdoors made us reconsider what vibrant community life was and could be. The goal of this photo contest is to capture the adaptive capacity of urban spaces. We invite you to submit a photo showing or reflecting:
- Urban spaces in need of reimagination to reach their potential
- Urban spaces that benefit communities in some way
Contest entries will be submitted via email to cssr@gmu.edu (see details below). We encourage you to also share your images via social media using the following hashtag:
- #urbanhubphotocon

To enter
Send an email to cssr@gmu.edu with a .jpg or .png of your photo. A maximum of 2 entries per person. To qualify make sure to include a caption or description of your photo (100 word max), your name, phone number, and Mason affiliation. Open to Mason students, faculty, staff and other Mason affiliates.
Prize Details
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be selected. Prizes are to be determined. Winning photos will be displayed at Mason's Center for Social Science Research.

Terms and Conditions
- All photos must be original work by the submitter.
- Entries should be submitted via email to cssr@gmu.edu with the following items:
- Photo caption (100 word max)
- Name of submitter
- Email Address
- Phone number
- Affiliation with Mason (i.e. student, staff, faculty, Mason affiliate, etc.)
- A maximum of two entries per person.
- Entries will be judged by the representatives of Mason's Center for Social Science Research Urban Research Hub.
- All decisions are final.
- The CSSR Urban Research Hub reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to stated contest rules.
- By entering the contest, entrants agree that photos submitted can be used by the CSSR in the future.
- Submissions will only be accepted until the deadline.
- Winners will be announced no later than Monday, December 12, 2022.
