Fall for the Book, Northern Virginia’s oldest and largest festival of literature and arts, will launch its 2022 festival on October 6, with a full complement of in-person and virtual events. Make sure you review the schedule and check in with your favorite authors.

The headliners for the 24th annual festival include Emily St. John Mandel, Gene Luen Yang, Alan Moore, Michael E. Mann, and Briana Scurry. Altogether, more than 90 authors, poets, essayists, memoirists, and editors – and even a whiskey distiller and a meteorologist, many of whom are Mason faculty, students, and/or alumni, will participate in the festival.

Fall for the Book has been named the winner of the inaugural ArtsFairfax Arts Innovation Award, which “recognizes an organization that has implemented nontraditional or inventive approaches to their art form and has uniquely engaged audiences in the arts.” After two years of virtual programming, the festival is glad to welcome enthusiastic readers to events in Fairfax.
