We are excited to announce that the Global South Research Hub housed within Center for Social Science Research at George Mason University is organizing the Second Global South Graduate Student Conference to be held on May 4 - 5, 2023.

“Staying Alive: Precarity and Survival in the Global South”

DEADLINES

For submitting abstracts: February 15, 2023

For submitting papers for the Best Student Paper award: April 10, 2023

This global conference will be held virtually allowing participation from across the world. We are inviting submissions of abstracts by February 15, 2023, from current graduate students at any stage of their study, across disciplines within humanities and social sciences, from any part of the world. We will notify you about acceptance by February 25, 2023.

We are also inviting draft papers from students with accepted abstracts to be submitted for the best student paper awards competition by April 10, 2023. The award will carry a cash prize of $300 for the winner and $200 for the runner up, along with a certificate. Paper submissions for the award are optional.  

The best student papers will be invited to be submitted to a special issue volume of a journal dedicated to the conference theme.
