This summer, the Institute for Immigration Research [IIR] at George Mason University is hosting a series of events focusing on immigration. The “IIR Spotlight on Immigration” aims to start a dialogue about U.S. immigration and immigrant’s contribution to the U.S. economy. Set on a monthly schedule starting in June and ending in August of 2013, the series will host a variety of events from movie showings to student/community-centered presentations on the issues at hand.
Join us on Wednesday August 7, 1:00PM as we feature Melissa Cidade, Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) at Georgetown University and Doctoral student, Department of Sociology, GMU, who will give a presentation titled "Masses, Ministry, and Migration: The Transnational Roman Catholic Priest as a Special Case Migrant."
This event is open to the general public and will be held at Mason Hall D205F [Fairfax Campus].
