Anand Panamthottam Cherian is a Graduate Research Assistant at the Global South Hub, Center for Social Science Research. His research addresses migration, with an emphasis on student mobility and migrant labor.

Before graduate school, Anand worked as a Research Fellow at the International Institute of Migration and Development (IIMAD) and as a Research Associate at the Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Kerala. In these roles, he contributed to large-scale and qualitative migration studies, including the Kerala Migration Survey, and collaborated with university partners internationally.

He holds an MA in Sociology from Jadavpur University and a BA in Sociology from Loyola College, Chennai. His work draws on sociological and anthropological frameworks, focusing on structural conditions and the lived experiences of migrant communities.
