Sara is a sociology doctoral student and a graduate research assistant in Next System Studies at Mason. She earned her Master's degree in Sociology from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.
In her masters thesis, she explored cultural traumas and memories that shape Arab American identity in the US and how such events influence their interactions and relationships with other Arab and non-Arab Americans. Currently, she is interested in advancing her methodology in conducting research concerning the role of collective memory in reconciliation and social/conflict transformation.
